Several years before Andrew MacCormack allegedly killed his wife Saturday in their Revere home, he allegedly woke a prior girlfriend from her sleep in an East Boston apartment and dragged her down two flights of stairs, court records stated.

“Victim stated she was in bed sleeping when the suspect walked into the bedroom and began asking random questions,’’ said a Boston police incident report from January 2011, which resulted in MacCormack, then 22, being arrested for assault and battery and destruction of personal property.

The case was dismissed when the girlfriend declined to participate in the prosecution, authorities said.

According to the report, the woman told police she thought MacCormack was intoxicated when he began rambling during the predawn hours.

Exasperated, she said she’d rather be with someone else.

“Those comments provoked [MacCormack] to drag the victim out of bed by her hair, down two flights of stairs and out into the street,’’ the report said.

Police said she knocked on a neighbor’s door for help.

The neighbor told cops she was “hysterical and uttering ‘he hit me, he hit me,’ ’’ the report said.

On Wednesday, a weeping MacCormack, 29, pleaded not guilty to a charge of murdering his wife, Vanessa MacCormack, 30. She was the mother of his 1-year-old daughter.

Authorities said Vanessa, a second-grade teacher in Lynn, had blunt force trauma to her face, missing teeth, “sharp force injuries’’ to her neck, and signs of strangulation and suffocation. Investigators said she threatened on Aug. 31 to possibly divorce MacCormack, who was spending $400 t0 $500 weekly on cocaine.

John Hayes, MacCormack’s lawyer, said Wednesdaythat his client denies killing his spouse. Hayes noted that police received information about MacCormack’s alleged drug habit from an admitted narcotics dealer. Regarding the 2011 case, Hayes said Thursday via e-mail that MacCormack’s family indicated “the alleged victim did not cooperate with the police, and that there were serious questions about the allegations.’’

MacCormack told cops that his prior girlfriend slapped him during the 2011 dispute and tossed a glass candle at him, records show.

The girlfriend, in turn, said MacCormack pushed her to the floor, threw her phone on the ground, and pushed over a table, shattering a glass candle, according to a police report.

The former girlfriend’s father, Antonio Dimaria, said his daughter and wife never told him about the alleged assault.

“They knew I would have done something,’’ Dimaria said Thursday. He said his daughter and MacCormack dated for about a year and were both drug users, but his daughter has since been clean and sober for four years. He never had any indication MacCormack was violent, he said, but he still didn’t like him.

MacCormack is being held without bail.

A vigil for Vanessa MacCormack, and other victims of domestic violence, is scheduled for noon Friday at Revere City Hall.

Vanessa’s funeral Mass is scheduled for Monday at Sacred Heart Church in Lynn, according to an obituary posted on the Solimine Funeral Homes website. She is “survived by the love of her life, her 13-month-old daughter Adrianna Grace’’ and many other relatives, according to the obituary.
