Like her ever-bold statements on the runway, designer Donatella Versace, in collaboration with English architect Jamie Fobert, has created a boutique both classically rich and cutting-edge contemporary. Echoing the look of the Paris flagship, the 2,400-square-foot Versace outpost in Copley Place features marble mosaic floors inspired by ninth-century Byzantine churches, along with floating acrylic shelves and brass stars. The shop, which opened on Thursday, sells clothing and accessories for both women and men, as well as home items such as pillows, throws, and glassware. Looks from the fall ready-to-wear collections include tailored but still sexy patterned pieces for women and intergalactic-inspired styles for men. Scratchy Print dress, $1,595; jacket, $2,950 at Versace, Copley Place, Boston, www.versace.com
