To the Editor:
Lodi Railroad Museum was grateful to be included in the Lodi’s Winter Wonderland celebration on Dec. 2. It was a great opportunity to show off the restoration project of the former W&LE Railroad Depot that was built in 1909. The depot has been an eyesore for several years and was about to meet the bulldozer, when, in 2005, a group of local historians and railroad historians acquired the depot and begun to restore it to its original condition.

Because of the lack of funds and volunteers, not too much was done until this year. With a few more working volunteers with a passion to get the job done, donations to purchase material and local businesses helping us out with materials, we are getting close to the original vision.

We are still a work in progress and in need of volunteers and donations. You can check our Facebook page or our website: www.lodirailroadmuseum.org for more information. We are a nonprofit 501(c)3 Historical Railroad Organization, laying new tracks from the past into the future.

Thanks to all of you that visited the depot on Dec. 2. Comments about the progress and all the railroad memorabilia that is on display was greatly appreciated!
