‘Trans’ roles
The American Repertory Theater is seeking transgender actors to audition for the upcoming production of “Trans Scripts, Part I: The Women,’’ a new play written by Paul Lucas and directed by Jo Bonney. The show runs from Jan. 19 through Feb. 5 at the Loeb Drama Center in Harvard Square, and rehearsals will begin in late December.
There are six roles in a range of ages to be filled: The youngest is in her 20s (Luna, an African-American and Latina trans female), the eldest in her 70s (Dr. Violet, a British gynecologist living in Australia who presented as male for most of her life). Descriptions of the roles are posted on the ART website.
If interested, send a photo, resume, and a brief cover letter to Trans ScriptsARTcasting@gmail.com.
