Recent bird sightings as reported to the Massachusetts Audubon Society:

►Cambridge: An Audubon’s warbler, the western subspecies of yellow-rumped warbler, was seen last week at Mount Auburn Cemetery.

►Plum Island: At Parker River National Wildlife Refuge, sightings included an American avocet, 10 piping plovers, an Iceland gull, a tricolored heron, a least bittern, and two orchard orioles.

►Concord: Great Meadows National Wildlife Refuge hosted a common gallinule, 30 wood ducks, a yellow-billed cuckoo, and a yellow-throated vireo.

►Miscellaneous: Sightings included a black vulture feeding in a residential area of Lowell, a brown pelican near Manomet Avenue in Manomet, two ruddy ducks at Horn Pond in Woburn, a yellow-crowned night heron at Swift Brook in Mattapoisett, a red-headed woodpecker in downtown Manomet, and a hooded warbler at Marblehead Neck Wildlife Sanctuary in Marblehead.
