The man charged in a deadly shooting outside a Randolph bar pleaded not guilty on Wednesday, officials said.

Gregory Wright, 36, of Randolph, was arrested early Wednesday morning and charged in the murder of Drake Scott, a 23-year-old from Dedham. He was ordered held without bail.

Wright was also charged with assaulting a police officer, assault and battery with a dangerous weapon, possession of a Class B substance with intent to distribute, and carrying a firearm unlawfully, Norfolk District Attorney Michael Morrissey’s office said.

The shooting took place shortly before 1 a.m. Wednesday outside the City Limits bar on North Main Street in Randolph, police said. They did not say where or when Wright was taken into custody. He is due in court on March 16 for a probable cause hearing.
