Gisele Bundchen is getting a kick out of the holidays.
The 36-year-old supermodel wife of Tom Brady treated her social media followers to a video of her session with Tateki Matsuda, a kickboxing champ based in Somerville.
This wasn’t the first time Bundchen highlighted her passion for a good punch. In September 2014, she was featured in an Under Armour advertisement throwing a powerful jab and laying down thunderous kicks on an alabaster punching bag at New York’s Gotham Gym.
The emotional power of the ad was heightened by a background of negative phrases that had appeared on Bundchen’s social media, both scrutinizing and lauding her for partaking in the traditionally masculine sport.
“Is modeling now a sport?,’’ “She’s too built,’’ “Protect this blouse,’’ and “stick to modeling sweetie’’ appeared in white lettering on the walls as Gisele fought on.
Bundchen has also touted boxing as a great way to relax. After the presidential election in November, the model posted a kickboxing picture on Instagram with the caption: “One of the most fun ways to release stress.’’
