On Sept. 24, when Andris Nelsons gives the downbeat on the Boston Symphony Orchestra’s 2016-17 season, he will be looking out at no fewer than four new faces in the orchestra. Joining the string section next season will be violinist Bracha Malkin, and violists Rebekah Edewards, Leah Ferguson, and Danny Kim. All four are American, range in age from 23 to 35, and come to the orchestra with additional experience performing as both soloists and chamber musicians. After they fill their respective seats, the BSO will have five remaining vacancies.
