JD Dudek scored two power-play goals in the first period and Austin Cangelosi scored another pair with the man advantage in the second as third-seeded Boston College took a 7-4 victory over Vermont on Saturday for a sweep of their quarterfinal Hockey East series at Conte Forum­.

For the second straight game, the Eagle offense was prolific, scoring seven goals on 34 shots and going 4 for 7 on the power play. Colin White chipped in three assists for BC (20-14-4), which moves on to the semifinals next weekend at TD Garden for the 23rd time in school history.

Rob Hamilton scored twice for sixth-seeded and 13th-ranked Vermont (20-13-5).

UMass Lowell 3, UNH 1 — The River Hawks spotted the Wildcats an early goal then came back with three scores to take the victory and a split of their best-of-three Hockey East quarterfinal series at Tsongas Center. Game 3 is Sunday at 4 p.m. at Tsongas.

Matias Cleland put 10th-seeded UNH (15-19-5) on the scoreboard at 8:43 of the first period with a power-play goal.

But the fourth-ranked and top-seeded River Hawks (23-10-3) evened the score at 12:54 on a goal from Tommy Panico. John Edwardh pushed Lowell ahead at 3:07 of the second period and Ryan Dmowski made it 3-1 at 11:29.

Tyler Wall had 18 saves for Lowell.

Notre Dame 4, Providence 2 — Dylan Malmquist scored a pair of empty-net goals 43 seconds apart late in the third to nail down the victory and the series sweep for No. 4 seed Notre Dame (21-10-5) against fifth-seeded 10th-ranked Providence (22-11-5).

Brian Pinho scored twice for Providence.

Union 4, Princeton 3 — Mike Vecchione scored on a penalty shot in overtime to lift the host Dutchmen (25-8-3) to a sweep of their best-of-three ECAC quarterfinal series against the Tigers (15-16-3).

Cornell 2, Clarkson 1 —­ Anthony Angello and Patrick McCarron scored for the host Big Red (19-7-5) as they evened their ECAC quarterfinal series with the Golden Knights (18-15-5).

Quinnipiac 3, St. Lawrence 2 — Craig Martin scored two goals and added an assist to lead the Bobcats (22-14-2) as they tied their ECAC quarterfinal series against the host Saints (17-12-7) at a game apiece.

Robert Morris 3, Holy Cross 2 — Daniel Leavens scored two goals for the No. 4 seed Colonials (21-011-4) as they swept the visiting fifth-seeded Crusaders (14-15-7) in their Atlantic Hockey quarterfinal series.
