Marshfield Fairgrounds

Start lining up the ingredients for your fall pie recipes now with three berry workshops in late March and early April. Learn to grow and prune blueberries March 26 at 10 a.m. or 2 p.m., for $50; or learn to grow raspberries or strawberries April 10, with raspberry lessons at 10 a.m. and noon, and strawberry tutoring at 1 and 3 p.m. Each class is $25. Learn the basics of backyard beekeeping every Wednesday from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m., with classes running from March 23 to April 20. The five-session class exploring everything from bee health (above) to honey harvesting costs $90 for nonmembers and $75 for members, and includes “The Beekeeper’s Bible’’ textbook. Wow your dinner guests with a fresh-picked salad featuring vegetables you learned to grow at the Walpole Floral & Garden Center. The April 17 class will explain how to grow cold crops, including lettuce, spinach, cabbage, and herbs, and will provide the containers to grow these plants. Gardening Green Expo, Scituate

Kennedy’s Country Gardens will host the annual Garden Green Expo (above) April 2 from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m., with a focus on edible landscaping. The free event will discuss converting your lawn to a food-producing garden. Other topics will be pollinators, composting, and weed-eating goats. Holly Hill Farm, Cohasset

Learn about the process of transplanting varieties of lettuce, plants, and seasonal crops at the Holly Hill Farm April 16, from 10 a.m. to noon.
