Perennial “Best of the Vineyard’’ winner Back Door Donuts — doing business as Martha’s Vineyard Gourmet Café and Bakery — has a new owner. Word around the island is the popular Oak Bluffs pastry purveyor has been purchased by Boston businessmen Patrick Lyons, Dick Friedman, and David Ginsberg, all of whom are Vineyard summer residents.

But don’t expect much to change. In a statement, Friedman, who owns the Charles Hotel, among many other properties, said the group intends to run the bakery as it was by former owners Janice Casey and Rita Brown.

Casey and Brown, who’ll hang around for a while to help Lyons, Friedman, and Ginsberg, told the Martha’s Vineyard Times they’re leaving after 17 years because it’s “time for us to focus on other things.’’

Lyons, whose real estate holdings include several restaurants, nightclubs, and bowling alleys, owns a home in Chilmark, as does Ginsberg, who has an ownership stake in the Red Sox and the Liverpool soccer club.
