The Forbes Under 30 Summit will return to Boston in October for a second year, with a few new avenues for 6,000 of the world’s youngest entrepreneurs and creatives to explore during the four-day event at City Hall Plaza.

“Boston is a natural fit,’’ said Randall Lane, editor of Forbes magazine.

“We see what General Electric saw. It’s the ultimate event for young entrepreneurs in a city where entrepreneurship is celebrated.’’

New this year is a “discover’’ area focused on health care and science programming, as well as a day of networking and programs devoted to increasing the number of women in male-dominated fields. Forbes is also starting a scholars program that will provide free passes and lodging assistance to 1,000 college seniors, primarily minorities, looking to launch careers in tech and finance.

“The tech and finance fields have no trouble hiring people,’’ Lane said. “However, they do have trouble hiring people who look like America as a whole.’’

Returning this year is the Under 30 Music Festival, which will be open to the public. Musical acts have not yet been announced.

The summit will include more than 200 speakers, including Ashton Kutcher; hedge fund manager Paul Tudor Jones; YouTube star Lilly Singh; author Tyler Oakley; executive chairman of Cisco Systems John Chambers; CEO of Flatiron Health Nat Turner; and founder of RWB Media Raymond Braun.
