10-year-old Jaeden enjoys riding her bike and calls herself a loyal friend
Jaeden is described as imaginative, sweet, and outgoing.

Sunday’s Child is a weekly column featuring a child currently in foster care awaiting adoption.

Jaeden is a 10-year-old girl of Caucasian descent who describes herself as a loyal friend. Those who are close to her describe her as imaginative, feisty, sweet, outgoing, and sometimes silly. Some of her favorite activities are making up stories and songs, playing with her Barbies, and playing dress up with jewelry and make-up. She also enjoys riding her bike and playing outside, whether it’s swimming, going to the beach or playing with friends. Jaeden likes to be in charge and independent. She enjoys the structure of school and in general thrives in an attentive environment with lots of positive reinforcements.

Legally freed for adoption, Jaeden will do best in a family with a mother and a father, or two mothers. If there are other children in the home, they will need to be older females. Most important, Jaeden needs a family who will stick by her side through ups and downs. A family must also be open to helping Jaeden visit with her birth parents three times a year and maintain contact with her two sisters with whom she is close.

Who can adopt?

Can you provide the guidance, love, and stability that a child needs? If you’re at least 18, have a stable source of income, and room in your heart, you may be a perfect match to adopt a waiting child. Adoptive parents can be single, married, or partnered; experienced or not; renters or homeowners; LGBTQ singles and couples.

The process to adopt a child from foster care requires training, interviews, and home visits to determine if adoption is right for you, and if so, to help connect you with a child or sibling group that your family will be a good match for.

To learn more about adoption from foster care, call the Massachusetts Adoption Resource Exchange at 617-6273 or visit www.mareinc.org. The sooner you call, the sooner a waiting child will have a permanent place to call HOME.
