A tortilla warmer ($7.95) sounds like an indulgence, but when you’re preparing a stack of packaged tortillas, it’s practically a necessity. Shaped like a puffy pita bread, the 12-inch insulated, polyester warmer holds up to a dozen tortillas, and acts like a warm and cozy muff. To use, separate the tortillas as they’re removed from the bag, restack, and tuck them them into the warmer. Pop it into the microwave for 15 to 60 seconds, depending how many tortillas you’re heating. An hour later, they’re still warm and soft. If you’re using the oven instead of a microwave, the warmer works just as well. Available at Concord Cookware, 13 Walden St., Concord, 978-371-2286,
