Jerry Remy will be back as the primary color analyst on NESN’s Red Sox broadcasts in 2017, his 30th year as a broadcaster with the network.

The network announced Wednesday that Remy agreed to a multiyear contract extension and will work 115 games per season. Terms were not disclosed.

“I’m very excited and pleased to be able to continue doing the job that I love, now heading into my 30th year and beyond with NESN,’’ said Remy in a statement.

“I want to thank NESN and the Red Sox for all their support in the past and going forward.’’

Remy has served as the analyst on more than 3,900 Red Sox games in his career. The Somerset played eight years for the franchise (1978-84) and 10 overall in the major leagues.

Nine invited to spring camp

Rafael Devers and Sam Travis, two of their top prospects, were among the nine non-roster players the Red Sox invited to spring training.

Devers, 20, had a .779 OPS for Single A Salem last season. This will be his first spring training with the major league team.

The 23-year-old Travis excelled in spring training last season, hitting .469 with 13 RBIs in 18 games. He then played 47 games in Triple A before a knee injury ended his season.

The Sox also invited first baseman Allen Craig, catcher Jordan Procyshen, outfielder Brian Bogusevic, outfielder Rusney Castillo, and righthanded pitchers Kyle Kendrick, Chandler Shepherd, and Ben Taylor to camp.

Craig hasn’t played in a major league game since 2015. The Red Sox took him off the roster after that season but still owe him $11 million.

New site for PawSox?

The Pawtucket Red Sox reportedly held initial talks about building a new stadium on Main Street. Team officials, according to the Valley Breeze newspaper, discussed the possibility of putting a stadium on the site of the former Apex department store, just off Interstate 95.
