The owners of this three-bedroom condo, a biotech lawyer and a scientist, asked interior designer Sashya Thind Fernandes of Boston-based ID8 Design Studio to create a living room that would suit the way they live. “They read a lot and play games with their daughter,’’ Fernandes says. The wife “hosts book club parties here, and it’s where [the husband] practices the saxophone.’’ By editing what they owned and introducing some new pieces, Fernandes achieved a look that honors the husband’s Asian heritage and the wife’s love for mid-century modern style. The sun-drenched, family-centric room now meets everyone’s needs. Says Fernandes, “It was about finding balance and harmony.’’
