■ METHUEN CRASH One woman died and three others were injured Sunday after their car crashed into a utility pole in Methuen, police said. Officers were called to Milk Street at about 3:08 a.m., according to Methuen Police Chief Joseph Solomon. Passenger Jennifer Montanez, 23, of Waterbury, Conn., was taken by ambulance to Holy Family Hospital in Methuen where she was pronounced dead, according to police. Jessenia Ramos, 28, of Peabody, was airlifted to Massachusetts General Hospital with life-threatening injuries. The driver, Jacleyn Leclerc of Peabody, and passenger Jessenia Montanez, 29, of Methuen, have non-life-threatening injuries. Methuen police said in a news release that “alcohol does appear to be a factor.’’

■ TROOPER ARRESTED An off-duty State Police trooper was relieved of duty Sunday after she was arrested for allegedly driving under the influence of alcohol. Angela Guerrera, 41, was allegedly driving erratically in Maynard before an Acton police officer pulled her over on Main Street in Acton at about 1:20 a.m. on Sunday, according to State Police spokesman David Procopio. She was in her personal vehicle. Guerrera, who is assigned to the recruitment section of the State Police, was charged with operating under the influence of liquor and failure to stop at a red light. She was placed on administrative leave, Procopio said.

■ SOMERVILLE STABBING Police arrested a Malden man in connection with a Friday stabbing in Somerville, according to the Middlesex district attorney’s office. Law enforcement officials allege Dwayne Williams, 31, stabbed a 28-year-old Somerville man multiple times. Somerville police later arrested Williams . Authorities did not identify the victim, who is in critical condition. Officials charged Williams with armed assault with intent to murder and assault and battery with a dangerous weapon causing serious bodily injury, according to officials.

■ BROCKTON SHOOTING A Brockton man died in the street after he was shot multiple times late Saturday night, State Police said Sunday. Jermaine Smith, 37, was shot around 11:30 p.m. near 58 Sawtell Ave. in Brockton, according to State Police. Emergency responders pronounced Smith dead at the scene. Law enforcement did not identify a suspect or a motive. Brockton authorities and State Police are investigating. Police urged anyone with information about the shooting to call Brockton detectives at 508-941-0234 or State Police at 508-923-4014.
