I thought Joan Vennochi’s column “Hillary Clinton isn’t getting her due’’ (Sept. 11) was excellent, and I couldn’t agree more with what she had to say.
What concerns me are the reader responses to her piece (“The Clinton campaign — a post-mortem,’’ Sept. 18).
Three of the four responses were critical of Clinton. They talked of unfairness to Bernie Sanders, the horror of the e-mails, and the audacity of her assuming she would win.
Please.
Now we have a president who tweets memes of hitting Clinton with a golf ball. But she is seen as the one deserving of our criticism?
Did anything that Vennochi had to say actually register with those readers?
Vennochi is correct that Clinton will not get her due as long as she is part of living history. And that is to the deep shame of the American people.
