Fool’s Errand opens at last

Openings: Tiffani Faison’s hotly anticipated stand-up snack bar, Fool’s Errand, has opened (1381 Boylston St. and Kilmarnock Street). Faison and her wife and business partner, Kelly Walsh, also run Sweet Cheeks Q and Tiger Mama nearby.

Faison says that she modeled the standing-room-only space after her favorite tapas bars in Barcelona and Madrid.

Tiger Mama vet Ellie Roycroft oversees the menu, cooking from an open kitchen. Feast on crushed Lays and smoked beef tongue finger sandwiches, ham and cheese croquettes, ham and jam on Ritz crackers, jarred artichokes, and pots of caviar. Wash everything back with wines served in crystal glasses foraged from Faison’s time living in Germany in the 1980s.

But arrive early so that your evening doesn’t match the restaurant’s name: Fool’s Errand opens at 5 p.m. daily, there’s room for a mere 30 people, and it’s walk-in only.

The Row Hotel (360 Foley St.) has opened at Assembly Row, part of Marriott’s Autograph Collection. It’s home to Reflections, a lounge that serves breakfast, lunch, dinner, and cocktails. Duck in after shopping for carrot cake fries, pollen-dusted salmon, and lobster bisque.

And Temezcal Tequila Cantina adds a fifth location, this time in Framingham (155 Worcester Rd. at Caldor Road ), across from Shoppers World Plaza. Fuel up on fajitas and margaritas after shopping, or visit a takeout window for a speedy exit.

Closings:The Met Bar Dedham (400 Legacy Place) has closed. Kathy Sidell’s MET Restaurant Group maintains Met branches in Natick and the Back Bay, plus tinned-fish emporium Saltie Girl, also in the Back Bay.

Cocktails: Brookline’s Best Burger Bar (195 Washington St. at Station Street) has collaborated with Grillo’s Pickles to create a pickle brine-infused tipple. Their first outing is called Downtown Pickle, a nod to owner Travis Grillo’s days spent peddling $1 pickles from a downtown cart. It’s a vodka drink swirled with lime juice, sugar, tomato, basil, and smoked rosemary. It’s a bit more expensive than his original spears: $14. Best Burger Bar will add a new pickle cocktail every season.
