Watson is a former MSNBC anchor, the CEO and cofounder of the online magazine OZY, and host of “Point Taken.’’ The show, on which experts civilly debate national issues, is filmed in Boston and airs Tuesdays at 11 p.m. on WGBH 2.
Favorite show of all time, and why?
“The Wire.’’ Such great storytelling. And not one or two, but literally a dozen epic characters from Omar to Stringer Bell and back.
Favorite show right now, and why?
Besides “Point Taken’’? “The Americans.’’ Just terrific drama and suspense. Love the history. Still doing a good job of making the unlikely still plausible. But the return of “Peaky Blinders’’ (season three) could shake things up. Cillian Murphy and his new wife — not to mention Aunt Polly — just make that must-watch TV.
Favorite bad TV, and why?
“Comedy Central Roasts’’ — like the recent Justin Bieber roast. Just hilarious. Pure inappropriate comedy. Snoop was terrific. So were Martha Stewart and Shaq.
What’s at the top of your Have-to-Watch list?
“Marseille’’ (Netflix). “Awkward Black Girl’’ (Issa Rae). Maybe “Vinyl’’ (HBO). PBS’s upcoming fall series “The Contenders.’’
Which show’s world would you want to live inside?
I would try “Ballers’’ for a minute. Why not?
