Many maestros at Tanglewood on Parade

Boston Symphony Orchestra
Oscar-winning composer and Boston Pops Laureate Conductor John Williams took part in Tanglewood on Parade, a day of music and family-friendly activities at the BSO’s summer abode in the Berkshires. Williams, whose film scores and songs have earned 50 Academy Award nominations and won five, conducted the orchestra’s performance of music from Steven Spielberg’s “The BFG’’ as well as “March of the Resistance’’ from “Star Wars: The Force Awakens.’’ Afterward, the 84-year-old Williams (center) chatted with the day’s other conductors, including (from left) Stéphane Denève, Giancarlo Guerrero, Stefan Asbury, and BSO assistant conductor Ken-David Masur.
