What’s good for Rob Gronkowski may not be good for the Patriots. Yes, Gronk is on the cover of the Madden NFL 17, but that should make Pats fans a little uneasy. Why? Because of the Madden Curse, of course. Over the years, several players chosen to be on the cover of the popular video game have gone on to get injured or underperform the following season. Examples include Marshall Faulk, Daunte Culpepper, Michael Vick, Ray Lewis, Donovan McNabb, Shaun Alexander, and Vince Young. (In fact, some football fans believe appearing on the cover of Madden is a fate worse than appearing on the cover of Sports Illustrated, which has its own curse.) Gronk in not concerned. Appearing on Jimmy Kimmel’s show the other night, the hard-partying pass catcher pointed out that Odell Beckham Jr., Richard Sherman, and Calvin Johnson all had good years after being on the cover. “I feel like the curse was way back in the day,’’ Gronk said. “It’s the present now.’’
