Two-alarm fire destroys Needham home

Needham firefighters battled a two-alarm fire that destroyed a home on Sutton Road, fire officials said.
Needham Fire Chief Dennis Condon said the house was a “total loss due to fire, smoke, and water damage.’’
The blaze broke out shortly after 1:30 p.m in the one-story home. Flames quickly shot through the roof and firefighters were ordered out of the building for safety. The blaze was brought under control after 4 p.m.
Wellesley and Newton firefighters assisted in fighting the blaze.
Chief Condon said the fire was sparked by a plumber’s torch.
No injuries were reported.
