As she walks around the contemporary she renovated with her husband, decorator, real estate agent, and stager Debby Yennaco Peretz talks about making that “wow statement’’ with her design choices. That meant Angel White marble for the kitchen counters. And in the master bath, shiplap.

The recent renovation increased the size of this 33-year-old house by 766 square feet, but its signature post-and-beam timber framing remain.

Most of the first floor is given over to an open layout encompassing the kitchen, living, and dining areas. All sit under robust slabs of timber with pin joinery.

The kitchen features marble counters, maple Shaker cabinets painted white, stainless-steel appliances, a farmer’s sink, and an island with seating for three. The backsplash is light gray textured subway tiles. The dining area, which used to be a sun room, sits under a set of skylights.

A sunken great room runs parallel to the kitchen and dining area and features a 31-foot-high cathedral ceiling crossed by timber beams. The room is rich with light, thanks to stacked windows and misty gray-white walls.

The flooring throughout these main rooms is birch stained a walnut-like hue.

On the opposite side of the home is a small bedroom outfitted as an office with its own side entry. Across the hall is a full bath that offers a shower with clear-glass doors, as well as a single vanity with an espresso-colored cabinet and a marble top.

Broad birch stairs lead to the second level, which holds four bedrooms, including the master suite, and a full bath.

The main bath has porcelain tile flooring with radiant heat, a tub/shower combo with a subway tile surround and glass shelves, and a single vanity with a gray cabinet and a marble counter.

The master suite is capped by a cathedral ceiling with exposed beams and gets natural light from wide windows, a skylight, and French doors to a private balcony. The bath, accessed via a sliding barn door, features a soaking tub set under a skylight, a single vanity with white cabinetry and a marble top, a water closet, a walk-in closet, and a shower with a clear-glass door and a rainshower head. The tile in the shower is glass, beveled bedrock, beveled subway, and Moroccan-style. The porcelain tile bathroom floor has radiant heat.

The flooring in all five bedrooms is carpet.

The basement, which is not finished, has above-ground windows. Many of the windows in the home are new, as is the geothermal heating and cooling system.

A visit on a snowy day found deer tracks crossing the 1.38 acre lot, located at the end of a private cul-de-sac.
