Boston fails adolescents by relenting on school start times

Re “Boston reverses on school times’’ (Page A1, Dec. 23): After racking up countless tardy arrivals and being denied late access to school, my daughter dropped out of Boston Latin Academy and, ultimately, out of high school. The biological timer in adolescents is definitely different from their younger selves, and nothing like that of adults. This reality has been scientifically verified for some time. As a parent, I had hoped decisions were being made for the benefit of the students’ learning and not the convenience of the adults. As a Bostonian, I should have known better.
