With the committee and Council meetings starting up again, City Council is back on its regular schedule.
Here is a quick update on the various construction projects that are ongoing throughout the city:
The Royalton Road water main replacement project from State Road to Prince Charles is connecting the water service to the new watermain. Driveway and street restoration is also being done. This work should be completed within two weeks. The other watermain replacement from Sprague Road to Castle Drive is underway with the mainline construction. We are anticipating a late September date for completion of this project. The Albion Road resurfacing between W. 130 and Ridge Road will be resurfaced as a mill and fill. Work between York Road and Ridge Road is completed. The State Road sidewalk improvement which goes from City Hall north to the Turnpike began on Sept. 9 and will be completed by mid-October. This project will include enclosing the storm ditches along the project limits with storm sewers and catch basins, and then the installation of a 5 foot wide sidewalk.
There are two Route 82 projects being done. The first one is the widening of the road from W. 130th to York Road. Work continues to install sidewalks and driveway aprons along the new northern portion of the street between Spruce Run Drive to just east of Abbey Road. Phase 1 is open to traffic. Small zones will be in place while landscaping work continues this week. Work on Phase 2 started this week. The other Route 82 project is from York Road to the east corporation line. The resurfacing will be done in two phases. Phase 1 is from York Road to just east of Ridge Road, and Phase 2 is from east of Ridge Road to the corporation line. Phase 1 has the intermediate course of asphalt installed. Catch basin, manhole and valve box adjustments in the pavement are underway. Currently, new curbs are being installed on parts of the western portion of the project. Work is scheduled to be completed by the end of October.
