NORTH ROYALTON – A city is only as strong as its business community.

Ward 3 Councilman Dan Langshaw knows this and is hoping to strengthen the communication and flow of ideas between the city and its businesses by beginning a new initiative specifically in his ward, which is home to the industrial park.

“Over the last few years, as Ward 3 city councilman, I have toured a number of businesses located throughout my ward in the industrial parkway, York Road, Royalton Road, Wallings Road and Abbey Road,” he said. “As a result of those visits and meetings with business owners and investors, it has helped me develop some goals I want to focus more on as a community leader.”

Some of these goals he would like to work toward include fostering a business-friendly environment to retain existing businesses, listening to businesses’ growing needs, attracting new businesses that fit residents’ needs and encouraging residents to buy local.

“In order to accomplish this, I want to develop an ongoing dialogue that will help both our businesses and the city be even more successful,” Langshaw said.

To establish a direct line of communication with Ward 3 businesses specifically, he will host an inaugural Ward 3 Business Meet and Greet Breakfast Meeting from 7:30-9 a.m., Wednesday, June 5 at The Hidden Backyard located at 7375 Royalton Road here in North Royalton.

The event will also be a forum for businesses to get to know one another better, get to know Langshaw and discuss ways to further engage and dialogue moving forward.

“It is my hope that this becomes something I do, possibly on a quarterly basis,” he said. “Just like I do monthly coffees with my residents, I want to establish a direct line of communication with my businesses too.”
