Cuyahoga County ReadyNotify system offers expanded emergency notices
Users must re-register for added functionality
Cuyahoga County’s ReadyNotify emergency notification system is in the process of upgrading to a new platform, called CodeRED. ReadyNotify is Cuyahoga County’s emergency notification system. The system is used by the county and any participating communities to send messages concerning emergencies, weather events and community news. As part of this transition, citizens currently subscribed to ReadyNotify are encouraged re-register in the upgraded system by visiting readynotify.us or downloading the CodeRED Mobile Alert App, available at the iTunes Store or GooglePlay.
“Technology is ever-changing,” said County Executive Armond Budish. “Even in the five years since we launched ReadyNotify, the advantages and features of the new ReadyNotify powered by CodeRED offer so much more. It is so important that our residents stay safe during emergencies and ReadyNotify is a powerful tool for that.”
Re-registering is vital for current users to ensure that the system has accurate contact information. It also enables added functionality and features of the upgraded system, including targeted weather alerting for home, work, or travel; safety alerts like boil alerts or other emergency notifications; and community-specific updates.
To help citizens re-register, over the next few weeks notifications will be sent via ReadyNotify to all current subscribers. The notifications will contain the following language:

• Email/Phone Call: “Cuyahoga County is in the process of upgrading the ReadyNotify System. To ensure you continue receiving notifications from the ReadyNotify system, you must RE-REGISTER at readynotify.us by March 15, 2019. Also, preferences can be updated at any time, so the system is ready to meet your ever-changing needs.”
