NORTH ROYALTON – Community service never tasted so good.

The annual Taste of North Royalton event, a popular, sell-out event that raises dollars for the North Royalton Educational Foundation and the North Royalton Stadium Foundation, is on the menu next month helping these two organizations raise dollars while also showcasing the culinary offerings of close to two dozen local restaurants, delis and bakeries.

The ninth annual Taste of North Royalton will be hosted from 5:30-9 p.m. Thursday, Nov. 7 in the grand ballroom of the St. Paul Hellenic Banquet Hall at 4548 Wallings Road in North Royalton.

More than 400 people typically attend.

Ticket sales opened Oct. 7 and sell out quickly, so purchases are encouraged early. Tickets are $35 per person and will be purchased online this year by visiting taste-of-north-royalton-91110.cheddarup.com.

Tables of 10 people can be reserved for $350. As always, this is a 21 and over event.

The main entree is the many samplings of savory and sweet culinary delights cooked up by the local eateries. The list of vendors continues to grow.

Those announced so far include: The 3 Spot, Kavana Social Kitchen, Angie’s Pizza, Zeppe’s Pizzeria, Rosewood Grill, Creekside Restaurant and Bar, Cozumel, Valenti’s, The Festive Plate Catering, Nothing Bundt Cakes, Danny Boy’s, Carrie Cerino’s Ristorante and Party Center, Cleat’s Club Seat Grille, Brennan’s Catering and Banquet Center, Kona Ice, Stancato’s Italian Restaurant, Tom + Chee, Marge Walter Caterers Inc. and Tinkers Creek.

Just as tasty as the food is the taste of victory.

Dozens will walk away winners of the massive basket raffle, which usually includes about 100 to choose from donated by area groups, individuals and businesses.

The Taste typically raises more than $15,000 total, which is divided among the two school organizations.

Through fundraising efforts, the North Royalton Educational Foundation awards grants to teachers each spring at every grade level and encompasses the needs of students ranging from special education to gifted education. The group also helps fund district programs recognizing academic excellence and provides a Teacher of the Year and Support Staff of the Year awards. It also presents the yearly Educational Foundation College Scholarship.

The North Royalton Stadium Foundation is a collaboration of parents, community members, business leaders and school personnel working to raise funds for further improvements and maintenance at the stadium.

Becky Cozzens, vice president of the Educational Foundation, said it’s a tasty event that satisfies several needs.

“This is the ninth year of the Taste of North Royalton, and the partnership between the North Royalton Educational Foundation and the North Royalton Stadium Foundation has made it possible. Together we have created a fundraiser that brings the community together and benefits the students of North Royalton City Schools,” she said. “It’s wonderful to hear how many people look forward to this fun event where we enjoy delicious food, enter for a chance to win awesome raffle baskets, all the while benefiting our kids.”
